Boxmaker's wood, also referred to as thin sheets of solid timber, is made by re-sawing thicker sheets that have already undergone full drying to prevent any warping during the drying process. The resulting sheets are meticulously sanded to the desired thickness, making them an ideal choice for laser cutting.
These versatile sheets find a range of applications, including box making, jewellery crafting, furniture restoration, model building, marquetry, luthiery, intarsia, and other woodworking and design projects. In addition to laser cutting, they can also be used for steam bending and curved laminations. With their flexibility and precision, these thin wood boards are a great addition to any woodworking or craft hobbyist's toolkit.
As the wood is unfinished it is ready for any finish you wish to apply, such as varnish, stain or paint. It is supplied ready sanded with a perfect smooth surface.

Please note that wood is a natural material the grain and colour will vary from sheet to sheet. As the wood is planed very thin please bear in mind that although every effort is made for the sheets to remain as flat as possible, changing temperatures and humidity levels can cause slight warping/ bends in the wood. These features are normal and due to it being a natural material, it is not a fault with the product.
